An attachment is fabricated and is fixed to a denture to provide retention and / or support.

Basically two parts: – Male and Female part.

Male part is fixed to a crown inside patient’s mouth permanently.

Female part is attached to inside surface of a denture.

 

INDICATIONS:

Where fixed Prosthodontics are contraindicated

Retention and stability in distal extension cases (where there is no tooth behind for support of fixed bridges).

Control of loading and rotational forces.
